A twin pregnancy follows its own cadence. You'll feel symptoms sooner, gain more, see your provider more often, and reach full term earlier. Here's the shape of each trimester, plus a few things worth planning ahead.

First trimester (weeks 7–13)

Twins are often spotted at the first ultrasound. Expect stronger early symptoms and a faster-rising belly. This is the stage to start a folate-rich prenatal and rest when you can.

Second trimester (weeks 14–27)

More scans than a singleton pregnancy, watching both babies' growth and the placenta setup. Many parents start the gear list now. A good belly support band helps as you carry two.

Third trimester (weeks 28–37)

Twins commonly arrive around 36–37 weeks, so finish the nursery, install two car seats, and pack early. Comfort matters most now; a pregnancy pillow can make sleep possible.
